The Engineering department is the one that keeps everything on board in working order. From water makers to main engines, and from lights to Wi-Fi, the routine maintenance and checks the engineer does are crucial for happy sailing. 

Engineers must be organised, diligent, and interested in mechanical and electrical systems.

If you have engineering experience from an industry outside of yachting, mention this in your CV to show you have a wide scope of knowledge and experience.
